Modern Religious Idols and False gods, Part 8 - Upward Mobility
August 10, 2009 - The very first temptation of man was when the tempter promised Eve upward mobility.  “Ye shall be as gods” was the promise, and it was more than she could resist.  When the tempter took Jesus up into an exceeding high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; he said unto him, “All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me” (Matt. 4:8-9).  Jesus did not go for the promise of upward mobility, because he saw through the lie.  Upward mobility is always a lie, and it is time we identified it as such. ...

Modern Religious Idols and False gods, Part 7 - Imagination
June 15, 2009 - Some decades before Nahum prophesied concerning the destruction of Jerusalem, Jonah had been sent by God with a dissimilar prophecy to the same city.  In Jonah’s prophecy, God had left room for the Ninevehites to repent – and indeed granted them repentance for a time In order to show forth His gracious mercy; and because of their repentance, their city and nation were spared.  By the time Nahum was sent forth to prophecy against Nineveh, all room for repentance was over.  Nineveh, once known for its repentance, had repented of that repentance and had become “a bloody city”, and “full of lies and robbery” (Nah. 3:1).  God was now declaring an absolute and certain judgment against Nineveh, and proclaims that, despite the imaginations and fantasies held by Nineveh against God’s rule and against His elect people, Nineveh was to be utterly destroyed and removed as a city and as a nation. ...

Modern Religious Idols and False gods, Part 6 - Peace - False Peace
June 1, 2009 - You have heard me say before that “Peace is not solely the absence of warfare.  Peace is the absence of desire”.  This means that so long as we have holy desires that are not fulfilled; so long as we long for spiritual things and we have no resolution of those desires, we cannot have peace.  The unsaved man can never experience true peace, because he can never satisfy the innate longing of the spirit of man to be at peace and unity with his Creator.  Only through God’s manifold grace and mercy is it possible for humans to have true peace.  Now, in this apostate age, most religious people are greatly deceived by this word “Peace”.  They rightly call Jesus Christ The Prince of Peace, and then wrongly interpret what that means and how to understand that title contextually.  True and lasting peace generally arrives via war.  Enemies who are hostile to our peace must be defeated and thrown down; rebels must be converted, overthrown or destroyed; those with hostile intent must be tamed, convinced, or annihilated.  Just as when Christ’s Spirit comes to put down and overthrow our carnal man in order to save us, a great war must necessarily precede any Biblical peace.  But, like I said, modern religious people are very confused about what peace is, and since ignorance always leads to idolatry, ignorant religious people are quick to make an idol out of peace. ...

Modern Religious Idols and False gods, Part 5 - Peace - Comfort and Provision
May 11, 2009 - This will be the first of at least two parts under the sub-category of “Peace” as a Modern religious idol or false god.  In this part we will look at one of the most deceptive and understandable of all idolatries, the false idea that because a society lives in relative comfort and safety and with ample provision, it necessarily follows that that society is in good stead with God, and is not under His judgment and condemnation. ...

Modern Religious Idols and False gods, Part 4 - Liberty
January 19, 2009 - There is no modern idol so deified in the minds of so-called “christian” people than the false god named “Liberty”.  An errant view of freedom known as Liberty is that false god which rules the western mind, and which is most foundational and intrinsic to the colonized thinking of men and women in our generation.  In virtually every case where we find a modern idol constructed in the mind of the people, we can trace that idol back to some false god or goddess worshiped in earlier times by the heathen.  The Roman goddess Libertas had been worshiped by many cultures under different names, most going back to some form of sun worship; the later versions resembling, depicted as, or related to Sol Invictus, the Roman god of the sun. ...

Modern Religious Idols and False gods, Part 3 - Sleep
January 12, 2009 - For me to mention sleep as an idol may be confusing to some of you.  Surely God has given us sleep, has he not? So it must be a good thing? God has formed us and caused us to need our regular sleep, and Jesus Christ during His time on earth is seen sleeping in the scriptures, so we need to be careful to define what we mean by “sleep”.  In Romans we are exhorted to “awake out of sleep”.  Dr. John Gill calls this sleep “the carnal security and drowsy frame of spirit which sometimes attend the churches and children of God, the wise as well as the foolish virgins; and lies in grace being dormant in, the soul; in a backwardness to duty, and a slothfulness in the performance of it; in resting in the outward duties of religion; in lukewarmness about the cause of Christ; in an unconcernedness about sins of omission and commission; and in a willingness to continue in such a sluggish frame: all which arise from a body of sin and death, and an over anxious care for the things of the world; ” ...

Modern Religious Idols and False gods, Part 2 - The Belly
January 5, 2009 - We'll start with a quick commentary on these verses.  In the first part of this series we identified a modern idol worshiped by the masses who call themselves “christian” today.  That idol was named “I think”.  In this second part, we will identify a closely associated idol – one who has been worshiped as a “god” from the very earliest centuries, and one who is identified in these verses for us by the Apostle Paul.  Let us look at our text:Brethren, be ye followers together of me” - Which is not to say “make me a God” or “follow me as a Messiah”, but “follow those things you see me doing.  Learn of me.  Make me a guide stick or a marking stone so you will know how you should act, and how to judge those who might deceive you.  Paul says, “be ye followers together of me.  The words “followers together” are a single compound word which means “co-imitators” or “imitators together”.  Paul says, “use me as a pattern, so that you might be imitators together of me. ...

Modern Religious Idols and False gods, Part 1 - I Think
December 28, 2008 - A simple conversation with just about anyone chosen at random who identifies himself with the modern church today (and of any denomination) will do to prove the point I desire to convey to you today.  The god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4), the one whom the Bible says has blinded the minds of men, is known by many appellations.  Most of the false gods worshiped by the religious men and women who call themselves “christians” today, are actually just idols formed in their minds by the god of this world to blind them to the the truth of God revealed by God in His Bible and perfected by the revelation of Jesus Christ who gave us His Gospel.  Though there be many idols today, under many names, almost all of them are idols who represent the interests of the god of this world.  That is an important thing to keep in mind as we study this topic.  As we proceed, if the Lord wills and gives us understanding, we will see that the god of this world has an agenda, and that agenda involves blinding the minds of men – leaving them in darkness – that the light of God, which He commanded to shine out of darkness, will not shine in their hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 4:6). ...

The Biblical Case for the Beard, Part 1
May 20, 2008 - When we want to understand the root of any modern practice, it is important that we go to the Bible and to history first.  By reading the Bible, and by understanding history, we will be able to see the root and foundation of most modern heresies and abominations.  You can be sure that if God would have things to be one way, that modern man (and modern religion) would have it to be another.  If God would have purity, modern man and modern religion would have depravity.  If God would have obedience, modern man and modern religion would deify freedom.  If God would have submission, man will elevate self and the will.  In Israel there was no bigger shame, no greater humiliation, than for a man to be shaved.  This point is inarguable.  We can prove it from the Bible, we can prove it from history, and we can prove it from art.  A shaved face was a sign to one and all that a man was unclean, impure, and shameful. ...

Headcoverings, or The Veil, Part 2
March 12, 2008 - We have shown in the previous part that it was the almost universal practice of women of every culture represented in Corinth when this epistle was written, to cover their heads in some manner.  And we have made a point of showing that Paul's intent was NOT that women would cover themselves during prayer or worship – as if it were acceptable (or even a common practice) for them to go uncovered at other times.  Neither the context, nor a thorough review of the history, society, and culture allows that interpretation (though I have heard it many, many times from modernist preachers).  Rather, Paul was making the point that a woman ought not to uncover herself during prayer and public worship, as was being done by some who had adopted that practice from the pagans.  This point, I believe, is where the greatest misunderstandings and deceptions occur in relation to this verse.  Please make note of that, and pray about it in your own study of the issue.  Out of ignorance of the context, the writing style, and the prevailing culture, many have come to the conclusion that Paul was making a sociological argument – or a cultural one, even though in his introduction to this chapter, Paul places this discourse in the arena of absolute ordinances that he expects the people to obey and keep. ...

Headcoverings, or The Veil, Part 1
March 12, 2008 - Let me preface this sermon by making an observation – one that will likely offend a good portion of the intended audience right from the outset – but one that needs to be made.  There is a principle involved in the topic, and exposed in the primary Biblical text covering the topic of the headcovering or veil, that needs to be understood.  There is no single Biblical topic, taken directly from the plain teaching of scripture, which is more likely to pierce “even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow”, and to discern “the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Heb. 4:12).  According to the scripture, the headcovering is patently designed and commanded by God to be a sign to show forth God's divine order – that between the man and the woman, and to typically represent the submission of man to God.  So, by its very nature, you can imagine that this topic will be one that is highly hated and rejected by those who are in rebellion to God's divine order.  It is a fact that the truth brought to light by a proper understanding of this topic will be received in direct relation to ones submission to God's divine order, and to God Himself. ...

The “Great Commission”? – Comments on Modern Christian Missionary Evangelism
March 8, 2008 - This is an important issue, and it is one that needs to be handled very precisely.  One of the great assumptions of Christianity is called “The Great Commission”.  The commission is great, but if handled improperly, it is a great commission of evil and befuddlement against God’s true church.  We want to start out by saying that we DO believe that God raises up some (but few) individuals; and we believe he can and does send these individuals “out” with the Gospel of peace.  We would never deny the great works done through people like George Whitefield, Adoniram Judson and Hudson Taylor.  What we intend to examine, is the modern idea of “The Great Commission” and how Missionary Evangelism has corrupted the true gospel. ...

What is the Gospel? A Series, Part IV: When the End Comes
July 15, 2007 - Throughout the scriptures, judgment is inexorably linked to the Gospel of God.  Here the Apostle Peter makes such a forceful and clear statement of this link, that the importance of it cannot be denied.  Vain religionists and false professors tend to divide mankind into two groups – First, the professing Christian (all of whom they believe to be saved), and second, the profane secularist or atheist (who they believe to be the lost).  The Apostles, however, consistently divided mankind into three groups: ...

What is the Gospel? A Series, Part III: The End of the Gospel
July 8, 2007 - Christ, sitting on the Mount of Olives, is approached by His disciples who desire to question Him concerning the end of the world.  The disciples would begin to feel the urgency of the matter a couple of chapters later as Jesus closes this lesson with these words: “Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified” (Matt. 26:2).  A frightening prospect for the disciples, who obviously would have sensed the remarkable drama in which they were participating growing to a crescendo. ...

On Flags
July 5, 2007 - Michael, You're from the South, and you're a Texas "patriot", in a manner of speaking.  I'm sure you've come across the Confederate Flag quite a bit down there.  My question is, is the Confederate Flag a symbol of hate? What is it's meaning? What should our response be to the 'Stars and Bars' (or any countries flag)? ...

What is the Gospel? A Series, Part II: The Gospel Hidden
July 1, 2007 - In this statement alone, this plain statement that the Gospel is hidden from the lost, is the ruin of the false gospels of Universalism, Roman Catholicism, and modern Evangelicalism – which is merely Arminianism unleashed.  Here we see that the devil is used of God for this purpose, that he might keep those for whom the light is not intended from receiving the spiritual light by which they might see, believe, and receive Jesus Christ and be saved. ...

What is the Gospel? A Series, Part I: The Righteousness of God Revealed
June 17, 2007 - Paul is not ashamed of the Gospel, even under severe persecution from the Jews, and under threat of great persecution by the Greeks and the Romans, for by it the “righteousness of God” is revealed (1:17).  The attributes of God and His work revealed as the “righteousness of God” in the Gospel include: ...

Kent Hovind no Hero
May 8, 2007 - Even among those of us who are completely over any desire to be accepted or liked by men, there is still a trace of apprehension when you are about to say something that will likely bring even more scorn, rejection, anger, and hatred your way.  Not that I have many supporters left (I've lost several more over the last few months), but there is always a bit of tension when you are forced to say something that you know will alienate the few friends you have left.  I also want to say that this is not an attack on Kent Hovind, who is probably a perfectly nice fellow. I certainly do not want to add wood to the martyrdom fire being stoked by him, his family, and his associates. ...

Internet Cowards: a Sign of the Times
November 1, 2006 - When I was traveling the country on speaking tours, I encountered about every kind of professing "christian" you can imagine... Papists, Arminians, Charismatics, Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists and those of a hundred other sects.  I have stood for hours answering questions from hostile crowds of over 300 people.  In hundreds of speaking engagements I encountered 10's of thousands of people in over 80 cities in America and several foreign countries.  During that time I received dozens and dozens of anonymous death threats that continue to this day; I have had people drive thousands of miles to show up unannounced at our farm just to "look me in the eye", and I have had organized campaigns designed to keep me off the radio, or to cancel my speaking engagements. ...

Persecution a Promise
June 4, 2006 - You know, I have to say that I have received a lot of communications in the last couple of weeks...some from new acquaintances, and most of those communications have been eerily similar.  Every once in awhile, I can respond once with an update or a short article and it will apply to virtually everyone who reads it.  This will be one of those times.  Before you read much further, I would like you to take a moment and focus your mind, and pray that God will give you ears to hear and eyes to see how what I am going to say applies to YOUR life. ...

Of Bullfights and other Art
February 22, 2006 - This short article began as a response to a good question sent to me for our Q&A Friday email.  Awhile ago I mentioned that I appreciated bullfights, and would probably “run with the bulls” in Pamplona if I ever had the opportunity. Several readers have asked me how I can support a “sport” that glorifies the killing of helpless animals.  Not all of the questions utilized the same terminology, but all were based on very similar presuppositions. ...

The Prophet
December 26, 2005 - I want to expand upon the teaching I have done previously concerning Prophets in my commentary on the book of Isaiah.  The true body of Christ is one body made up of diverse members with diverse functions (called gifts); each of these functions are to be performed diligently according to the faith given and according to the purpose for which God has placed each elect individual within the body.  Let us quickly examine our study verses. ...

Supernatural Revelation, Part 2
September 26, 2005 - The scriptures give us ample information about our own times, if we are willing to be diligent in seeking out the meanings of God's types and shadows in the Old Testament.  When we see wicked, apostate, Israel (a type of the church) facing utter destruction we know that, if we are diligent students, we can glean information that will be applicable to our own times. ...

Supernatural Revelation, Part 1
September 12, 2005 – Where the people do not have a supernatural vision of truth from God, those people most certainly perish (Prov. 29:18).  The Hebrew word which is translated as vision in this Proverb relates to a supernatural revelation of truth that can come only from the throne of God.  When the people are wicked, when they are satisfied in themselves, and when they operate only according to their 5 senses, they perish and do not know it. ...

Romosexuality
September 7, 2005 – A reader on my website was shocked to hear me say that homosexuality was not the cause behind the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina.  He was further shocked to hear me say that homosexuality was not the cause behind the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah either.  New Orleans was not judged because of rampant homosexuality.  New Orleans was rampantly homosexual because New Orleans is Roman Catholic. ...

Trying of Faith
August 9, 2005 – The Apostle James parallels “divers temptations” with “the trying of your faith”, and he declares that there is a work being done in the beloved through the means of suffering, a means which most men either revile or neglect.  The term “divers temptations” literally means “various and different types of trials”.  Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines a trial as:  “Experience; suffering that puts strength, patience of faith to the test; afflictions or temptations that exercise and prove the graces or virtues of men” (Webster’s 1828 Dictionary).  Before a man will come freely to the physician, he must have a sense of his own sickness, and likewise unless we are seriously tried we can have no sense of our weakness and of our need. ...

Towards a Biblical/Agrarian Culture
August 15, 2005 – In earlier portions of this series we have discussed Agrarianism as the central, desirable system that God has decreed for his people.  We discussed Agrarianism as antithetical to the prominent system of urbanism that prevails in the modern antichrist world.  It is important, then, that we discuss Agrarianism in greater detail in order to answer the question I receive the most on this subject:  “So what’s the big deal?  Are you saying we should all be farmers?”  Agrarianism is more than farming, and Christianity is more than just doctrine or theology. ...

Isaiah Part XXXIII – Michael Bunker Commentary
This chapter is an interesting prophecy, properly placed at the close of a long dissertation concerning the fate of the professing Church in the last days.  This chapter has been interpreted rather widely by various commentators.  If the student is not careful, he can easily brush past this chapter, concluding that it is merely a collection of truthful but disconnected proverbs.  Let us recall that we have just passed through a rather lengthy discussion of the plight of the Church (both the true and the false Church) in the end of times.  Now we begin to read a rather beautiful chapter concerning a time of great spiritual blessing, where the people will be ruled by a righteous king and honest and good princes.  This will be a time of great spiritual awakening and of uncommon righteousness and growth among the people. ...

Isaiah Part XXXII – Michael Bunker Commentary
In these chapters we see the conclusion of the 4 chapter mini-book prophecy concerning the fate of the professing “church” in the last days, and the promise of God’s protection over His elect few whom He has separated out from that false church and from the world.  In the beginning of the last chapter, Isaiah mentioned that mere professors in Jerusalem, those who only gave lip service to God and who reject His counsel and who refuse to hear the law of the Lord, were guilty of being united in the spirit with God’s perennial enemy, Egypt. The 3 previous chapters of this special message to Jerusalem and Judah have each started with a “woe”, and this chapter is no different.  The four woes of this extended message to the Church of the last days should be noted and heeded by the diligent student. ...

Isaiah Part XXXI – Michael Bunker Commentary
Verse 17 of Chapter 30 ended with a great promise for God’s very few elect who will survive and remain faithful through the several spiritual and physical destructions of Jerusalem.  They will be like a beacon on a mountain and ensigns on a hill – solitary signs of God’s goodness and a rallying point for the few who remain.  Verse 18 - And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him; There are two kinds of “waiting” going on in this beautiful verse.  The Lord is said to “wait”, that He may be gracious unto His elect.  Those who faithfully tarry in expectation for Him to do so are said to “wait” for Him.  The word translated as wait here has the meaning of “to adhere to, to tarry with expectation”.  Through all the many destructions and judgments of Jerusalem, God is waiting to bestow grace and mercy upon His elect.  This patience is designed so that He might be exalted in the preservation of His chosen people: ...

Isaiah Part XXX – Michael Bunker Commentary
Chapter 30 of Isaiah is a continuing exposition of God’s judgment upon Judah and Jerusalem, with an explanation of the manifold sins and transgressions that brought such severe judgment from God.  While the prophecy specifically and typically speaks of the invasion of Judah by the Assyrian army, we will see that spiritually the anti-typical fulfillment of the judgment coming upon the professing Church is in view.  Whereas the last chapter gave us word-pictures of God’s judgment falling upon the Church, in this chapter we see the overall case that is brought against the professing Church, and the promise to the very few elect remnant who will spiritually survive and be held up throughout this judgment. ...

Isaiah Part XXIX – Michael Bunker Commentary
This chapter begins a very interesting group of prophecies.  Some able commentators have seen this chapter as a single unit, separate and unconnected to the chapters that precede and follow it.  While some commentators have found this prophecy to be specifically about the siege of Jerusalem by the Assyrian army, others have concluded that this chapter is exclusively a prophecy concerning the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 a.d. by the Roman army.  I hope to offer a substantially different view of this chapter, interpreting it typically as a layered prophecy of the several destructions of Jerusalem and the Temple, and anti-typically as the beginning of a very specific and important prophecy (consisting of about 4 chapters) concerning what is to befall the Church (Spiritual Jerusalem) in our very own time.  This chapter consists of a prophecy concerning Jerusalem, referred to here as Ariel.  The prophecy in the chapter consists of two parts: (1.) The invasion of Judea and the siege of Jerusalem by enemies, with its sudden deliverance. (2.) A reproof of those who call themselves by God’s name for their infidelity and impiety. ...

Memorial Sermon for Thomas Shepard Bunker
March 18, 2005 – Let me first say that we are not of those who believe that as a maxim “all babies who die in infancy infallibly are ushered in to heaven”, or that “all who die before the age of reason (or responsibility) go to heaven”.  Our reasons for denying these falsehoods are these:  1. They deny the penalty of Original Sin that all men are fallen in Adam, born in sin and corruption from their mothers wombs. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Rom 5:12).  “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me” (Psalm 51:5).  “The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies” (Psalm 58:3). ...

The Dangerous Leaven of Antinomianism, Part II
February 21, 2005 – Some who were mingled among the disciples of Jesus Christ came and told Him of how the ruler Pilate had slain some Galileans while they were participating in the sacrifice about the time of Passover.  It is often supposed that they were relating the events, 20 years earlier, of the disciples of one Judah of Galilee, who had gathered a following after himself and who was subsequently attacked and killed by Pilate for rejecting Roman rule and for teaching against the paying of Roman taxes.  There is a hint, here, that Christ and His disciples may meet a like fate, since it seemed to these who are telling the story that the teachings of Jesus were similar to this Judas of Galilee.  Jesus does not answer the inference, but instead applies His sword to the heart of the matter.  It was obvious that these men thought that these slain Galileans must have been great sinners (above other Galileans) because they suffered these things.  Likewise, these men must have reasoned that the eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam fell were sinners above all men in Jerusalem.  But Jesus says to all that are present, “except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish”.  Jesus will use the erroneous ideas of these religious men to teach the truth He would have those who can hear to apply. ...

The Dangerous Leaven of Antinomianism, Part I
February 12, 2005 – It is judgment indeed upon a wicked and perverse people that they leave one of the most plain and specific warnings ever to come from the mouth of God on earth ignored and unheeded.  In these scriptures in the Gospel of Matthew we have the words of Jesus Christ warning us about a specific kind of people that will never enter in to the Kingdom of Heaven:  1.  They wear sheep’s clothing.  They profess to hold to the best doctrine, and to be of Christ’s own flock.  They take upon themselves the name of “Christian” and expect to be ushered into heaven. ...

Right Medicine
February 7, 2005 – Over a month before the death of our baby son Thomas Shepard Bunker this past week, the Lord led me very strongly to the works of the great Puritan preacher Thomas Shepard.  It has become obvious to many of you that for quite awhile I have been curious and concerned about the complete lack of growth or maturity in those who profess to be the true Church of Jesus Christ (those who have right doctrine, a concept of proper separatism and holiness, and knowledge of the times).  In my study, I was led repeatedly to the works of Thomas Shepard.  I purchased his 3 volume works over a month ago, and began to devour them as soon as I received them in the mail.  What followed was the most intense time of prayer and personal reflection I have ever experienced as a Christian.  Daily I would relate to my friends and family how profoundly I was being affected by Shepard’s writings.  Within a few days, I had read two biographies of Shepard, and I was moved to tears by the account of his life. ...

Conflict, Attrition and Consumerism
January 9, 2005 – This article is an excerpt from “The Process Driven Life” book, coming soon…. “Bunker, there’s way too much conflict in your ministry; too many people signing on and then getting cross-ways with you; too many folks with too much bad stuff to say about you. It seems that the fruit of your ministry is schism and conflict.” What saith the scripture? “And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known” (Matthew 10:21-26). ...

Isaiah Part XVI – Michael Bunker Commentary - Chapter 15
It is a common, prideful human tendency to conceive that when we study of the awesome and frightening wrath of God upon nations and upon individuals – that God will somehow spare our friends and family, just because of their relationship to us. Even while the Bible teaches us to be intimately concerned with and attentive to our own salvation and position, we are more than willing to abuse God’s grace by systematically extending it to those who show no signs of having received the truth, or who continue to reject it after having heard it. It is extremely prideful and very dangerous to consider yourself “saved” while you live in harlotry with the world, and while you abuse every method of grace extended to you, and while you put off entering totally in the Kingdom of God because it is not now convenient for you to do so. It compounds that dangerous error to erroneously attribute salvation to friends and loved ones because you believe that since God’s special love is extended towards you, that God is compelled also to love what you love. It is nothing less than assuming “Messiah-ship” for yourself to extend salvation and God’s grace to the objects of your own worldly love, merely because you believe God has to save the things that you idolize. ...

The Underground Railroad
December 7, 2004 – Most people are aware of the Underground Railroad mainly as a mechanism created for, and used by, slaves prior to the War Between the States, to escape to freedom in states that had abolished slavery. But the Underground Railroad in America in the mid 1800’s was only a single example of a larger concept that is both Biblical and historically Christian. Definition:  An Underground Railroad is most often not physically underground, nor does it often make use of railroads. An Underground Railroad is generally a lose affiliation of individuals, many who do not know one another and who may or may not know any information about the persons they are assisting, who work together in an unofficial and unorganized way to secure or bring about the protection, defense, and/or freedom of a particular party. An Underground Railroad generally and historically comes to exist during times of distress or persecution against a particular “type” of person or group – and usually involves people from outside that particular type or group who assist in helping the persecuted party seek protection or freedom. While Underground Railroads are a peculiarly Christian idea, and have been used throughout the Church age to protect and defend Christian people, other, non-Christian Railroads have existed in the past, some even to protect and defend wicked evildoers who sought to escape the arms of justice (such as the Nazis who escaped through the Roman Catholic “ratlines” to exile in other countries). ...

Change, Part 2
November 26, 2004 – In our first article on Change, we discussed the many unbiblical reasons that people rush to temporally change their lives. Pride, unreal expectations, dissatisfaction – these things often lead to changes merely made for the sake of change. The root of all of these unbiblical motivations, regardless of how the motivation manifests itself, is FEAR. Most men and women who call themselves “christians” have a fear of freedom. They cannot trust Christ and His promises, and they cannot believe the plain text of the Bible. Now let us look at the other extreme in the category of Change – Immobility or Fear of Change. No matter what a man says about himself; no matter what swelling words he uses to convince you of his desire for godliness; no matter how closely he follows your teaching or how pricked he is by the truths presented from the Bible – the Bible teaches that we shall know them by FRUIT: ...

Change
It is not uncommon when I write an article about the ideas or concerns that swirl through my head that everyone individually reading it will say... "Is he talking about me?" Well, yes I am. In this case, this lesson applies to everyone in some manner or other. Humans in their fallen condition are driven to improve their state, or in bad times, do whatever they can to maintain their comfort at all costs. It is the way of man to always look far ahead (being "purpose driven") at whatever means of "change" that might be implemented to ameliorate the perpetual sorry condition in which each and every unregenerate man finds himself. Partly this is a result of the overwhelming pride found in every single human being. Every unregenerate man (and most saved ones too), no matter what words come out of their mouth or with whatever false humility they choose to cloak themselves, believes that deep down he DESERVES a better lot in life - and that only change (or lack of change in some instances) will provide a release to the depressive state in which he would otherwise find himself. In short, mankind naturally seeks "happiness". ...

Why Christians Should Not Vote
October 25, 2004 – Well class it is time for another exciting lesson on examining presuppositions and premises. Since I emailed out my refutation of the “get out the vote” scam, several good brothers have sent me a popular quote from Noah Webster for my comment… “When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, just men who will rule in the fear of God. The preservation of a republican government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made not for the public good so much as for the selfish or local purposes. Corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the Laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the Laws.” (Noah Webster, History of the United States) ...

Christian CounterCulture?
July 23, 2004 – I want to start this article with a story that will serve as both a parable, and a filter. In 1993 I was working in the Dallas, Texas area. I was introduced to cigars by an acquaintance who offered me one after work. I have to say that I enjoyed that cigar immensely. A lot went in to my instantaneous affinity for cigar smoking. I had never been a smoker; I never smoked cigarettes and never did drugs. As a student of history, I was well informed of the critical roll that tobacco had played in the formation of a republic on this continent, and in its early successes…

Underground Church Class #9 - Agrarianism vs. Urbanism
June 24, 2004 - The Bible teaches that mankind, in his most perfect state, is designed (and has a primary duty to) dress the garden and to till, manage and overcome the land – for the pleasure and provision of man, and for the Glory of God. Man’s duty then, apart and above all other duties, is to manage the Creation for God’s glory, for “The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Psalms 24:1). The first hint of any commandment or duty given to man in the Bible is from the first chapter of Genesis…

Plague of Women III: Standing Up
April 27, 2004 – You are probably surprised that I was even willing to entertain writing a 3rd part to this series, after the vicious and wicked attacks I sustained after writing the first 2 parts. They still accuse me of hating women and of being a bigot and a chauvinist. Are you surprised? Did you think I could attack a part of the Antichrist’s system of control and NOT be branded a hater? Of course they say I hate women…

Behold: The One World Cult
March 4, 2004 — We had a pretty interesting last 8-9 days since my article on the “The Passion” movie came out. We‘ve had a steady 300% increase in “hits” on the website, peaking on Thursday when we had an 800% increase over our normal traffic. Because of that, there has been not only a lot of questions about my own personal position on the movie, “The Passion,” but also questions on the doctrines and the prophetic implications of the movie. I have determined that I was going to discuss those issues today as much as I can...

“The Passion”, Soul Food for Fat, Stupid Religionists
February 19, 2004 – When Jesus Christ walked the earth; mankind came face to face with the incorruptible God of creation. But they would not have Him or glorify Him as God. The Light shined in the darkness, and the darkness comprehended Him not (John 1:5). “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not” (John 1:10-11).  Jesus Christ? Or an image of Jesus Christ?  When the real Jesus humbled Himself in order to meet with man, the whole world did not gather to see him in plush theatres, ...

God’s Sabbath: Michael Bunker comments On the Sabbath and what it means to Christians.
Originally posted in Scripture Studies, Jan-Mar 2004 – Although this letter is designed as a discussion of the Lord’s Sabbath, I do not plan (in this first section) on discussing which day should be set apart as the Sabbath (I find it far less important an issue), but, instead, I intend to note the mental processes that I went through in bringing this area of my life under the government of Christ Jesus.  When the Lord first began to really call me to Himself in a personal way, I was working several jobs. One of my jobs was as a part-time bartender at a very busy university bar. One of my primary (and most lucrative) shifts was Sunday afternoon for the Sunday football crowd.  Although I had been nominally “raised a Christian”, I knew very little about the Bible at this time (I was reading through it for the first time), and I had absolutely no direction from any type of spiritual authority; but I just knew (in a somewhat spiritual way) that I was to keep holy what I thought was the Sabbath day. I went to my boss and told him that I could not work on Sunday any more because I wanted to keep the Sabbath holy. My boss (who was also a good friend of mine) not only understood, but he later told me it impressed him that I was so eager to please God. ...

Biblical Worldview 3, The Kingdom of God
October 20, 2003 by Michael Bunker -- It is evident in the scriptures that Jesus Christ was instituting the Kingdom of God during his earthly ministry. That many of the prophecies of the Kingdom refer to a time still future when the earth will be destroyed and a new heaven and earth instituted is not denied by us, but we must heed the words of scripture that teach that the “spiritual” Kingdom was instituted by Christ during his time on earth ...

Biblical Worldview  vs. Chance Theology
September 29, 2003 by Michael Bunker -- In the last section on Worldviews, we focused our attention on worship, and on the necessity of a right view of the authority of scripture.  In this section, we will look at the prevailing worldview in the church that calls itself Christian, and how it is fundamentally anti-christian.   A worldview stands or falls, strangely enough on its view of the world.  And by world I mean the whole creation, the cosmos and all that exists therein.   A proper, functioning worldview takes in every bit of available information, and seamlessly integrates it into a proper view of creation.   A fragmented (or dysfunctional) worldview rejects important facts, blindly operates on poor or inadequate information and, in effect, it ignores any realities that would necessitate major or uncomfortable changes ....

Knowing Christ Crucified
September 7, 2003, by Michael Bunker -- The Church in Corinth was very diverse, and of all the early Churches, Corinth flourished above them all in God’s evident gifts. Paul, Apollos and even Peter had spent significant amounts of time in Corinth. Paul himself had lived amongst the Corinthians for more than a year and a half - personally pastoring that church from its infancy in the ways and Gospel of Jesus Christ. But then… ....

The Necessity of a Biblical Worldview
August 18, 2003, by Michael Bunker -- In regards to worship it is often supposed that a particular religious service or attitude is in view. This opinion may well have been derived from the modernist view of the “church” as a building or as an incorporated entity rather than the historic Christian view of the “church” as the called-out body of believing saints. The scriptures do not limit the concept of worship to religious service or to a particular time period consisting of spiritual reflection or a prayerful attitude...

The Two Witnesses
June 16, 2003, by Michael Bunker -- We have previously discussed and discovered fully the identity of just what and who is called “Antichrist” in God’s Holy Word. We know who it is that OPPOSES Jesus Christ. We now turn our attention to a most critical element regarding who it is that will stand FOR Christ by opposing and testifying against this evil Antichrist. These are those who are Anti-Antichrist. The eleventh chapter of the Revelation of Jesus Christ unveils to us a great mystery involving Christ’s two witnesses on earth. Who are these two faithful witnesses...

The Un-Cult
June 4, 2003, by Michael Bunker -- Let us open this article solemnly with a warning and disclaimer. First the disclaimer: This article is being written because most people who call themselves “Christian” are neither Christian in their spirit, their behavior, or their study habits. In fact, most of them are too stupid and lazy to do any work at all, desiring instead that someone else study the Bible for them, pray for them, serve Christ for them and for the most part BREATHE for them. Now the warning: If you are too stupid to read the Bible, think for yourself, or defend your position OUT OF SCRIPTURE instead of out of the prideful insolence of your own fallen brain, then you might want to avoid reading the accurate descriptions of you and your ilk that you will find in this article. Besides, IF IT DOESN’T FIT INTO YOUR 501-C3, TAX-FREE, FAT, BLOATED, STATE-SPONSORED, CORPORATE, APOSTATE, BLUE-EYED, LONG-HAIRED, HONKEY HIPPY-LUV, BRAINWASHED IDEA OF “CHURCH”…. THEN CALL IT A CULT!!!!!!...

The Shocking Truth About the False Prophet
June 3, 2003, by Michael Bunker -- We have spent many weeks exposing the Papal Antichrist with proofs so numerous and Spiritual evidence so convincing - some might be led to ask, "Why does not EVERYONE believe the obvious evidence?" In fact, why does not the Roman Catholic Antichrist Papacy recognize herself as Antichrist? Just as we can be assured from scripture that the ability to receive the articles of our faith, and the right to believe on God are gifts from that same Sovereign God, so is the ability to recognize God’s enemies a gift received from His throne. We explained in our chapters on the Antichrist, how 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 plainly states that God will WITHHOLD some from being able to recognize His enemy, so that they might perish having not received the gift...

The Testimony of History against Antichrist
May 26, 2003, by Michael Bunker -- God has been pleased to unveil to his own people a particular truth about His sovereign timing. We have examined the Testimony of the Holy Spirit regarding Antichrist, and we have also examined the DOCTRINE of the Papal Antichrist as it is plainly unveiled to us in scripture. “That Day”, known to us as The Day of the Lord, shall not come until AFTER the man of sin has been revealed. The attention of all of history ought to be focused on this revealing as it is a necessary time cue. It can be known to us that some time after this revealing, we may expect The Day of the Lord to come...

The Plague of Women, Part II
May 19, 2003, by Michael Bunker -- The carnal human mind is so averse to God’s way of doing things that even among those who call themselves “Christians”, we find that the way of the world predominates - and those who would challenge the failed cultural norms are quickly labeled “haters” or unenlightened. “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” (Gal 4:16) My ministry has focused on calling attention to the apostasy in the so-called Christian Church, specifically we have heavily focused on the failures and abominations wrought by weak, sissified men who worship a false Jesus. Women have applauded my books and articles which expose the last day’s deception that religious men are under, yet I have found them to be far less receptive of rebuke in an even more dangerous heresy...

Testimony of the Spirit Concerning Antichrist
April 28, 2003, by Michael Bunker -- "And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you." There is a principle laid out in this scripture that we would do well to heed. It is notable that most bible expositors neglect this series of verses, other than to use them to exhort their readers to not fear persecution. But I think that closer examination will show us a principle that will benefit us in our desire to understand Bible prophecy...

Lazarus Unbound
April 5, 2003, by Michael Bunker -- Lazarus had lain in the grave as a dead man for four days. This fact is true beyond a shadow of a doubt, by the word of numerous eyewitnesses. It is confirmed to us by the words written by the eyewitness John the Apostle who reminds us of this fact several times in his gospel. Martha, the sister of Lazarus and a second eyewitness of the event, even goes so far as to warn the Lord not to break the seal on the tomb, knowing that his body would have already started its inevitable decay...

Am I Saved?
February 12, 2003, by Michael Bunker -- There is no time more valuable than that which is spent considering our position in God. It is an interesting phenomenon that the preaching of the Doctrines of Grace inevitably leads to the personal questioning of salvation by many who claim the name of Christ. Is this a good thing? Absolutely. No man can truly examine his position in Christ until He has been shown the perfection and holiness of the One True God. Only those who understand God’s sovereignty, and His ABSOLUTE election will ever TRULY engage in the work set before those who would be heirs to the kingdom...

Revolution: Freedom from Tyranny in Church and State, Part I
December 30, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- It is commonly claimed that the preaching of the Doctrines of Grace will inevitably lead to antinomianism (lawlessness), however, this cannot logically be the case. Sin can never have the truth as its cause. Jesus Christ is the TRUTH, and no sin can ever be charged to Him. The enemy forever tries to bring this railing accusation against God’s doctrines, but he must lie, concoct and twist the truth in order to do so. A true conversion and an effective profession of God’s Sovereignty is...

The Valley of Humiliation
December 1, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- Most people consider humiliation to be a bad thing. Who wants to be humiliated? Who would possibly seek humiliation? Who in their right mind would consider humiliation profitable? Acts 8:33 speaks of Jesus Christ, and in it Luke quotes from the prophecy in Isaiah 53 where it is said that, “He was taken from prison and from judgment.” It was Jesus Christ who was taken from the grave and arose from the judgment that He had suffered on the behalf of His beloved. Jesus took upon Himself affliction, oppression and death - willfully accepting that which was foreign to His perfect nature - for the purpose of perfecting those whom the Father gave to Him...

Introspection
November 10, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- "Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able." (Luke 13:23) About these verses in Luke’s Gospel, the great Puritan writer John Gill said, “…To "strive", is to be diligent in the use of means; to search the Scriptures with care; to attend on the preaching of the word with constancy, neglecting no opportunity; to pray earnestly for spiritual light, knowledge, and grace; to contend with every enemy that opposes the salvation of the soul, as sin, Satan, and the world; to bear all reproaches and persecutions, and press through all difficulties, for the prize of the incorruptible crown…”

A letter from Australia on the Corruption of Religious Authorities
October 11, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- The command of God that we judge righteous judgment is not a purposeless one. “For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again”. (Matthew 7:2) This is not a command to refrain from all judgment as it is commonly commanded of the “laity” in the corrupt modern churches, but it is a command to measure rightly according to a righteous rule, utilizing Holy Writ, the Holy Spirit, and the person of Jesus Christ...

Romeland Security and Political Assassinations
August 31, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- As America rushes towards another Middle East confrontation, the installation of a new interior “security” apparatus pushes forward at a breakneck pace. The Homeland Security concept, born in the minds of the Jesuits in the 1930’s and perfected in places like Berlin, Beijing, Moscow, Prague and Bucharest, is being “fitted” for an American audience hungry for slavery and subordination...

The Plague of Women, Part I
August 16, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- It is noteworthy that when Satan seeks permission to afflict Job, he says unto God: “put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.” (Job 2:5) Satan announces his gameplan: Get Job to curse God. As Job lay covered with boils from head to toe, Satan comes to him in the form of his wife, who encourages him to violate his conscience and the revealed will of God, by cursing God so that he might die...

Homeland Security: The Jesuit Gestapo
August 9, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- It is little recognized by most Americans that the Bill of Rights to the U.S. Constitution was the work of American Calvinists who desired to protect the young republic from the influence of the Roman Catholic Jesuits. James Madison, the author of the Bill of Rights, was the student of the Calvinist Presbyterian minister John Witherspoon. Of Witherspoon it is said that...

Biblical Revisionism
July 19, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- As usual, rather than deal with the corollary issues of Biblical revisionism, I desire to cut to the heart of the issue at hand. As the debate rages over the revisionist tactics of Dave Hunt and Marty Stacy (KCRO radio, Omaha, Nebraska), particularly regarding Acts 13:48 – I intend to not only prove THAT they are wrong, but WHY they are wrong. “And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.” – Acts 13:48 Oh what an abhorrent and harmful scripture to those who have aligned themselves against God’s Sovereignty!...

Liars and Their Motives
July 2, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- It is necessary that we continue to blow the trumpet regarding the dismal and frightening state of what passes as church and continues to function under the banner of the Christian faith. As the so-called “evangelical” forces are arrayed and sent marching to the far corners of the globe, a diabolical spectacle becomes ever clearer to those who have eyes to see. People who claim the name of Christ have stopped their ears to any talk of doctrine, unconcerned with the actual CONTENT of the Gospel being spread...

The Ultimate Conspiracy - Dave Hunt and the Jesuit attempt to hijack the Christian Faith
June 22, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- Too often we are not willing to ask the questions that cut to the root of the issues of the day. Our attentions are seized by shiny rocks and relics, by petty debates and well concocted mysteries - so that, in the end, the greatest of all deceptions slides under the door unnoticed. In the grand debate over whether homosexual, pedophilic priests should be demoted or defrocked, we are loathe to ask the deeper question...

Particular Redemption, Part II
June 10, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- ”Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.” – John 8:21 This critical verse does horrible violence to the Arminian viewpoint of universal atonement. That Christ Himself made a point of telling the Pharisees that their sins would NOT be forgiven them irks some people. At least it makes them admit to God’s foreknowledge, because even the willfully ignorant must admit that Jesus made this declaration even before the sacrifice for sins was to be offered...

Particular Redemption, Part I
May 24, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- Who were these “many” for whom the Son of Man came to give his life? To answer this, we must understand the doctrine of substitution. Paul explains substitution to us in the book of Romans. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12). God is pleased to deal with the relative righteousness of his people by proxy...

Church Membership
May 17, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- Joining ourselves to something is very serious business. God has declared it so. To make ourselves “members” of something is to partake in the rewards or punishments of that thing. Consider that Jesus prophesied to the Pharisees that since they were “gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ” (Acts 4:26), that they would CORPORATELY be held responsible for every murder of all of God’s prophets and wise men!...

Born Dead
April 20, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- Behold the key to why most “professing christians” remain unsaved. They have believed a social gospel. Most of them think they are “pretty good people” and that God saved them because they were smart enough to believe in Jesus. But what of human depravity? Man is inexcusable (Rom. 2:1). He is born dead. He comes forth from the womb completely and utterly “dead in trespasses and sins” (Eph. 2:1). David said...

The Gospel of Satan
March 22, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- The word “another” which is used in both verse six and verse seven of this section of scripture, is two distinct words with two distinct meanings. In verse six, the words “another gospel” refers to a different gospel, while in verse seven, where Paul says it “is not another”, the word “another” means that it is not another of the same kind. It is not just a different gospel. It is a totally perverted gospel that uses the gospel of Christ as bait or window dressing, but so substantially changes the effects of that gospel, that it makes it the gospel of the enemy of Christ, and not that of Christ...

The New Inquisition
March 04, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- I received a call an hour ago from my friend and publisher Tony up in Detroit. It appears that the religious Pharisees of the day are more fervent about muting my message than I had first thought. I was not surprised when we were shunned by the “Christian” publishing entities and the “Christian” bookstores regarding the sales of my new book: A Perilous Time. So-called “christian” booksellers are not above selling New Age and other heretical books, but they cannot have anyone challenging the legitimacy of the state-sponsored “church” in America...

The God of Your Mind
March 01, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- The last days gospel is a man-centered gospel. Surely most of my readers will agree with that. What is strange is that we may all agree that the current pseudo-gospel is man-centered, and still almost ALL of nominal Christendom participates in some form of it...

Giving, Tithing & Stupid Religion
February 24, 2002, by Michael Bunker -- I write this article for three purposes: 1. To defend our position on giving, tithing, marketing and the state of “religion” today. Many people tell me “Michael, don’t defend yourself, the Gospel needs no defense”. I respectfully disagree. Paul defended himself emphatically in the letters to the Corinthians, and I believe we should be ready to defend our position so that our detractors will stand rebuked, and the Body of Christ will be edified... I am pro-giving, but I am for BIBLICAL giving - not manipulative shakedowns by corporate fat-cats...

Habitation of the Just
December 26, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- Job, in contending with his accusers, engages in one of the first recorded dissertations on justification by faith. “I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?” If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.” Job 9:2-3 In this chapter of scripture, “Job’s Friends”, those relentless accusers of our smitten and afflicted hero Job, have tempted him by saying “If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.” Does that sound familiar to you?...

Sufferology
December 17, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- One of the basic ways that we can examine the fundamental differences between modern corporate Christianity and the true spiritual Christianity of the bible, is for us to intently watch how professing Christians interact with the idea of suffering. The dramatic differences grow ever more stark as we hold those most strenuous and trying of thoughts up to the light of the reality of the Gospel that was preached of the Apostles and of Christ...

The Great "American Taliban" Scam
December 12, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- I don’t know about you, but I ain’t buyin’ it. Here’s the story we’re supposed to believe: The spoiled son of a rich former Justice Department official is captured while fighting for the Taliban...

I am a Terrorist
November 29, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- God hath proclaimed Himself a terrorist. Paul says, “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust are made manifest in your consciences.” God is a terror to the evildoer, and to those who will pervert justice. He is a terror to those who will reward that which is evil and punish that which is good. He is most certainly a terror to those who conspire to steal life, liberty and property...

The Five-Fold Manipulation Program
November 26, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- I am often asked my opinion about the modern “Five-fold ministry” movement, or more specifically, I am asked what “office” I hold in relation to this “five-fold” teaching. I once had a self-proclaimed “Apostle” ask me what office I operated in...

Conscience Test... The Christ-Mass
November 21, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- Will we reject truth in favor of compromise? Moral and philosophical cowards are willing to relegate “truth” to a subjective thing, anesthetizing the conscience rather than guarding it...

Resistance is NOT Futile
November 16, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- Over 3 years ago, we began speaking of an “underground church” movement in this land. When I set out to travel the country I had only a hint of a vision of what that “underground” would look like in America. Since then...

Bring the Lions
October 26, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- The enemy has successfully kept the nominal “Christian” out of the fight. He has convinced the Christian that his place is in the institutional church, strapped to a plow, and not at the foot of the Cross...

Give Jihad a Chance
October 1, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- That's all I'm saying! Holy War ain’t that bad a deal, especially if you can write off your grenade launchers, bombs and stinger missiles as a 501c-3 tax-exempt part of “the ministry”...

Homeland Security Agency - The Police State
September 28, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- In 1998, I began laying out how state-sponsored terrorist activity was being used to bring about a Police State in this country. In 1999, I said that a major terrorist attack, blamed on Osama Bin Ladin, would be used to bring in this Police State. Let me make one more prediction that might shock a few people...

Your Flagwaving Unity Religion can go Straight to Hell
September 23, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- Pardon me while I peck a foit. All of the world is coming to some startling conclusions: 1) They have concluded that all religions are merely "different ways to the same god". 2) They have concluded that anyone who disagrees with that assumption must be a "terrorist". Excellent. Now we can pick sides...

You paid for the Terror
September 20, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- By the way, YOU paid for the terror. As the politicians and pundits scream for the blood of all those who harbor, finance or support terrorism – do not mistake the fact that YOUR money paid for the criminal acts perpetrated on September 11, 2001...

Boogeymen, Jingoism and I TOLD YOU SO
September 12, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- Round up the "usual suspects". It seems that that is the case. International boogeyman and all around bad guy Osama Bin Laden is once again the guy in the black hat...

Silly Ol' Stan PART II
September 9, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- One of the most interesting and telling parts of Stan Johnson's attack on Michael Bunker, is this: Stan has pulled all of my materials off of his website...

Silly Ol' Stan PART I
September 7, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- Here is a partial response to Stan Johnson's letter. I will not go into Stan's letter in too much depth, because it does not deserve it. I will, however, send a few emails which target the very heart of what is wrong with Stan Johnson and the Prophecy Club...

No More Prophecy Club
September 5, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- Three weeks before I wrote my article The Prophecy Club Story, I contacted Stan Johnson and told him all of the concerns I had about the PC, the way that money had been handled, and the serious questions I had about the new heretical direction of the Club. Stan chose not to respond...

A Higher Life
September 2, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- There is a rest spoken of in scripture. There is a hand that soothes like cool water. There is a peace that passes all understanding. There is a calm that cannot exist in only three dimensions. There is a river of wisdom that comes from having rested on Jesus Christ for salvation. There is a HIGHER LIFE. . .

The Prophecy Club Story
August 28, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- This article is one that I have struggled over like no other. I have attempted to remain guided by the Holy Spirit, submitting all thoughts and ideas to Him and His purposes. This article can, in no way, be a complete treatise on the subject - nor can it be a proper answer to all of the questions that I have received regarding The Prophecy Club. . .

The Church of the Carwash
August 25, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- I had to go take a rental car back to town today. A storm rolled through the other night, just as we were driving back into town. We live off of a dirt road, and well - you know what happens to dirt roads when it rains...

God's Sovereignty
August 2, 2001, by Michael Bunker -- This article was originally designed to be a part of my teaching on the doctrine of election out of the Gospel of John (see front page at michealbunker.com). But I thought it was important enough to share with you. Inevitably when we delve into the arena of God's sovereignty, the cry goes up from humanity (from the flesh) that a Sovereign God is somehow an unjust God...
