September 5, 2001 -- "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the spirit." John 2:8

To read some of the responses to my earlier PC Story article: PC Story responses, for my reply to Stan, go to: Silly Ol' Stan.

This has been a difficult issue, to say the least, since day one. I struggled about whether or not I should say anything. Then I struggled with my own personal feelings about some of the people who I knew would be distressed by this conflict. I know that I have done the right thing, and now I plan to finish it the way that I believe God wants it finished.

Paul said, “Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)”

Three weeks before I wrote my article The Prophecy Club Story, I contacted Stan Johnson and told him all of the concerns I had about the PC, the way that money had been handled, and the serious questions I had about the new heretical direction of the Club. Stan chose not to respond. When Stan became aware that I was planning on going public with my concerns, he offered me a $500 “donation”, but , when he learned that I had already posted my article, Stan withdrew his “donation”.

Four days after my article posted, I finally heard from Stan, (actually, not from Stan, but from Stan’s son) of course this was after the phone began ringing at the Prophecy Club, and after people started canceling their pre-paid trips to the Crusades. Stan wanted me to know that he would be responding, and that I could expect his response by Monday or Tuesday.

On Tuesday morning at 8 a.m., I received a notification from Stan that he was working on his response, and that I would have to guarantee him that I would publish his response without editorial comment. I publicly agreed to do so.

Twenty-six hours later, I had still not received a response. Dealing with Stan Johnson is much like negotiating with Yasser Arafat. He double-talks, delays and dodges. This morning, at 9 a.m., I contacted the Prophecy Club and told them that my offer to freely publish Stan Johnson’s comments would be rescinded at 12:00 noon, because I wasn’t going to play political games with him. At 12:30 (30 minutes AFTER the deadline), I received another communication from Stan. He said he was not finished, and that he would be done today, but he did not know what time. I told him that I was done waiting, that I had gone FAR beyond what the bible commanded, and that I would be writing this final article so that the people would have some closure on this issue.

Stan wrote me right back. Now, he was done with his response, and he wanted me to re-instate my offer to publish his response on my website. Only 5 minutes earlier, he did not know when he was going to be done!

I think you can see what we are dealing with here. To Stan, he is involved in a business. To me, and to the gospel, these are the only issues of life.

I have had a multitude of advice in the last couple of weeks. I thank you all for all of it. The bible is clear about how we are supposed to handle these kinds of issues. Some of you said that I must assume that Stan is a brother, and deal with him on the basis of a brother who has fallen into grave error and apostasy. Others have said that the fruit of Stan Johnson and the Prophecy Club is poisonous, and that what they are now teaching is abject heresy – so I must merely rebuke Stan as a heretic and count him cursed.

What I have done, is that I have made sure that everything that I have done or said is above board and fair to the Prophecy Club. I have gone out of my way to give Stan Johnson room to repent and to make things right. I have exhorted him in a way that he does not deserve. I have been patient with him, even when he has abused me and done despite unto the Spirit of Truth. I have offered him space on my website to comment to my readership, and still he intends to abuse all of those whose hearts are rended by such conflict. What is at the root of all of this folly?

MONEY

Why has Stan Johnson engaged in a ministry long pattern of charlatanism and chicanery? For Money.

Why has the Prophecy Club not come clean on the “offerings” that were taken in the name of the speaker? For Money.

Why has Stan Johnson attempted to intimidate people and squelch any commentary on the Prophecy Club? For Money.

Why has Stan Johnson continued to sell materials from people that he admits are heretics? For Money.

Why has the PC now resorted to blatant, unorthodox, false and deceptive teachings that blaspheme God? FOR MONEY!

Why has Stan Johnson not repented of this evil, made things right with those he has defrauded, and ceased to travel down his road of heresy? He refuses to change because there is too much MONEY involved in the game. It all comes down to money.

Stan Johnson would have you believe that I raised all these issues because I want money from him. Nobody could take such a charge seriously. Let’s take a look at that. Money is the downfall of so many ministries – look at all the other media ministries that have gone down the money road.

I live in a single-wide mobile home on property owned by my father. I own goats and chickens and geese. I grow vegetables to eat, and I work with my hands. I have a 20-year-old young man living with me who has chosen to live here to be spiritually mentored. Since the inception of this ministry I have refused to take “tithes”, returning checks that have the word “tithe” written anywhere on them. When people would write me, asking me to prove to them that I was worthy to receive money from them, here has been my response:

“I am not worthy. I work by God’s sanction and on His commands alone. If He has commanded that you give the money, why do you question me? If he has not commanded you to give it, then why do you tempt me with that which He has not commanded?”

I have three vehicles. Two of them are not even in my name. All three vehicles were donated. We have two 1990 model Plymouth Voyager vans. One has a smashed out back window, and the other is inoperative because the front end needs to be worked on. We have a 1977 Chevy Van Coachman Motorhome. It currently does not have a motor in it, but a donated motor is being installed as we speak. This ministry has publicly turned down offers of cars and vehicles. I ask people to pray that the Lord has led them to give such a gift before I will accept it. In Des Moines, a woman offered us a car during the meeting. I told her that God must decide if she gives it or doesn’t give it. I told her that quite often people are emotionally moved by a good talk, and that their emotions might get them to do something that God does not require of them. I told her that I would return to Iowa in two months. If God still wanted her to give the car – we would pray about it then. She prayed about it and a month later, she sent some money to be used on one of the ministry trips.

Christianity is not RELIGION. RELIGION is about money and manipulation and other base things. Christianity is about relationship, and you cannot be a soulless profiteer and maintain any kind of relationship.

My lifestyle has not changed since the Prophecy Club first called me. That is the way God desires it to be. The Prophecy Club wants to take credit for my ministry, but God will not allow it.

Stan has the whole barnyard full of the Apostles and the Prophets. Is it real? Is the Prophecy Club the fountainhead of blessings in the last days? Is the fruit of the Prophecy Club real, or is it manipulation, false manifestations and religious charlatanism. I believe they have made it perfectly clear.

The Bible says to mark those who work that way. The Bible says to count them accursed. God hath said that we have no fellowship with these workers of iniquity. The Bible says that ANY of those who teach this false doctrine, who go about considering that gain is godliness, that from such we are to withdraw ourselves. God says that we are not to engage ourselves with those of corrupt minds who are destitute of the truth. God says that we are to be content with raiment and food, since we will carry nothing out of this world. With such, I am content.

I hold Stan Johnson and the Prophecy Club up to the brethren and to the Judge of the Universe for Judgement. Vengeance is mine, he saith, I will repay. I am done dealing with the Prophecy Club. I am casting them out, because the work they do is not of God. It is the work of the enemy, and they hereby stand rebuked for it. Repent, you workers of iniquity while there is still yet time.

I charge those of you, the brethren, that you heed well what we have seen and what we have said. We are to rebuke, correct and chastise with all authority. Stan Johnson has not repented, he is to me as a heathen man. I have no part with him. His judgement will be sure.

***ALERT***
At 3pm, hours after the cutoff time for my offer, Stan said that he had the response totally finished, and that he wanted to send it. Even after I have been forced to walk two miles with Stan Johnson, he requests that I walk 5 more. He sent the response in "Pagemaker" format, a format that no one but publishers use. When I asked him to resend it, I had to wait another 30 minutes for them to resend. It is going to be reprinted on my site in it's unedited form. I haven't touched it. It is not only ridiculous and almost funny, but it is difficult to read because of the format they sent it in. When I send it to the web, you will find it here: STAN STRIKES BACK!

For all of you on the BunkForum, count another "Prophecy" as having come true. I reprint here from the MichaelBunker.com forum on August 31, 2001: I'll lay a fiver that he uses the term "accuser of the brethren", alludes to the fact that this is all "an attack" that was expected due to all the good work they are doing. I'll only post this here so he won't get clued on the deal. I date this post: 6:57PM Central Time on August 31, 2001."

It seems, from Stan's response that we are to understand that:
1. America has not been judged because of the Prophecy Club. (God repented, because of Stan Johnson)
2. Stan owns you if you ever went to a Prophecy Club meeting. Forget that his meetings fell from 300 people to just 20. If anyone ever has another meeting, it is because of the Prophecy Club.
3. All good things flow through the Prophecy Club. If someone disagrees with Stan, they are "angry" or "complaining", but if Stan disagrees with anyone else - he is just "correcting, gently, with love".
4. Stan is poor and destitute, while all of us mean ex-PC speakers are living high on the hog, famous because of him.

My response to Stan Johnson will be forthcoming, then - I'll be finished.

Your servant in Christ Jesus,

Michael Bunker
