All across the world today there is a
neverending assault on your right to privacy. We here at lazarusunbound.com support your right to communicate and to
operate privately.
We have tried to make this an easy place
to find the most informative resources when it comes to protecting
your right to privacy. In this section you will find links to all
types of resources including secure email sites, web surfing options
and other pro-privacy links.
Please feel free to write us
with any additional resources that you have found useful. Send your
link and the reason you like the resource to: editor@lazarusunbound.com
Disclaimer: we have provided

Web Surfing
If you are not
surfing anonymously, then you are leaving fingerprints everywhere
you go. I don't use anonymous surfing all the time, but when I'm
"working" I do.
Privacy Tools
This is a great "catch-all" privacy spot. Anonymous surfing,
remailers, privacy tools, etc. This place has it all.
http://www.anonymizer.com/
Anonymizer.com is one of the best privacy services on the web.
It is so good, the CIA uses it. But don't let that spook you. There
is a reason that they use Anonymizer.com when they come snooping on
MichaelBunker.com, and it is the same reason that I use
Anonymizer.com when I go snooping... well wherever I go snooping.
They have a free service that you can use directly from their
website. They have a paid service you can download that gives you an
Anonymizer "button" on your top toolbar. Click it and you are
invisible.
http://www.the-cloak.com/
The Cloak is a good anonymous websurfer, and it's free, but they
really limit your ability to use the service. If you log-off, then
decide to get back on (and you are on the free service) they block
you for 6 hours from using the service. Still a good free service.
http://www.freedom.net/
Freedom.net is a paid anonymous websurfing program. I do not use
it, but I heard that it is good.
http://www.safeproxy.org/
SafeProxy has a free and a paid anonymous websurfing service.
You can also surf anonymously for free from this page by finding the
"Safeproxy" URL box and entering in the page you want to anonymously
surf to.
http://www.nethush.com/
NetHush has a free anonymous surfing service. NetHush masks your
IP address as you surf the web. Check it out.
http://www.idzap.com/ IDZap
is a new free, anonymous Web surfing service that is easy to use.
IDzap.com removes sensitive information such as machine names, IP
addresses and cookies so that your Web surfing session can be
conducted anonymously and safely. There are also good FAQs here on
cookies, JavaScript and security issues. Great security site.
http://www.somebody.net/
This is a paid service that allows you to use proxies for all of
your internet work. Good privacy, but it can get complicated.

Secure
Phone...
These are some programs designed to let
you use your computer to place encrypted telephone calls through the
internet.
PGPfone
This is a free download site where you can download a program
that allows you to place encrypted phone calls to another PGPfone
user.
SecuriPhone
Similarly allows you to encrypt phone call conversations. I
prefer this program to the PGPfone because it is easier to use.
Email...
Using Email is the primary way that many of us communicate
today. But sending an email is like sending a postcard through the
mail. Anyone who wants to can read it. Check out these great links
and software programs that are designed to protect your email from
snoopers.
Razius
Express This is a free download site where you can
download a program that allows you to secure many types of
electronic communications.
http://www.hushmail.com/
Hushmail is a premier anonymous email server. Using top of the
line encryption standards, Hushmail allows you to send encrypted
email to other Hushmail users free of charge. They also have a pay
service that gives you even more services. Michael Bunker can be
emailed at his secure Hushmail account at: chickenrun@hushmail.com
http://www.anonymizer.com/
Anonymizer.com is one of the best security and privacy services
on the web. They offer the ability to send anonymous email, as well
as anonymous websurfing.
http://www.pgpi.org/ PGP
(Pretty Good Privacy) is one of the best encrytion programs
available, but it is not for newbies or people who are not
tremendously computer literate. It is a program that stays resident
on your computer and allows you to encrypt email and files.
http://www.sendfakemail.com/
This is a paid service. I think it costs around $9 a year, but
it allows for the unlimited sending of anonymous email.
Enonymous
This is a freeware software program that allows you to send
anonymous email. Clicking here takes you to their download site.
Spamex Lots
of cool opportunities here. They advertise it as a "disposable email
address service". Want to find out how SPAMMERS got your email
address? Want to send an anonymous email to some spammers personal
email address? Well, then ya' gotta' check out Spamex. Very useful
service.
http://www.sneakemail.com/
Sneakemail is a free service that you can use to generate
disposable email addresses. These "sneak email" addresses are
aliases of your real address, which is kept hidden. You can enter
these Sneakemail addresses into web forms or use them to contact
e-businesses without the risk of your real address being abused or
bought and sold.
Remailers
Anonymous remailers are a valuable tool in protecting your
privacy while sending email. But they can be complicated. This page
provides some links to different types of anonymous remailers.
Before using them, you might want to check out: Anonymous Email FAQ
and read the Frequently Asked Questions about anonymous emailers.
Mailwasher
The easiest way to check and manage your emails before you
download them. MailWasher is a powerful email checker with effective
spam elimination.

Firewalls,
Wipers and Stuff
There is more to computer
security than anonymous websurfing and email. You need to protect
your "box". Here are some great links and software programs to help
you do just that.
PestPatrol PestPatrol
finds shareware and other spyware programs that are often missed by
virus and anti spy ware software. They have a free trial, but it
does not allow you to remove spyware, which it will surely find, so
go ahead and pay the 30 bucks for the full version. I use mine
regularly.
ZoneAlarm
ZoneAlarm provides world-class protection against Internet-borne
threats like worms, Trojan horses, and spyware. The cool thing about
ZoneAlarm, is that it alerts you when somebody tries to break into
your computer. You'll be SHOCKED how often it happens to you!
AdAware
Protect yourself from "Spyware" with this handy free utility.
(Spyware consists of sneaky software programs that use your Net
connection--usually to report data to advertisers--without your
approval or knowledge). Ad-aware removes spyware on your PC and
scans your memory, registry and hard drive for known spyware
components.
Cryptext A
quick, easy way to encrypt files on your computer. Just install
Cryptext and whenever you right-click on a file, you'll get a pop-up
menu that lets you easily encrypt or decrypt it with one click. This
freeware utility uses a combination of SHA-1 and RC4 to encrypt
files using a 160-bit key (which is geek speak for saying that it
renders your files unreadable to snoops).
BCWipe
Generally, when you delete a file from your computer, it is not REALLY gone. BCWipe makes sure that it is really, really gone.
